Game Collectors Unite: The Price of Nostalgia
Hello Friends (and Enemies?),
As an avid video game collector I wonder how other gamers and collectors view video game collecting as a whole. I didn't really realize I was collecting games until I started buying old games I missed from my childhood. Up until then I had just bought games I wanted to play and kept them. Not much for renting. Owning games makes me happy!
Now I frequent used games stores, eBay, craigslist and garage sales in search of rare games and ones that I miss from days past. I spend quite a bit on these findings, though I wonder if that's the norm. I dropped a hefty $700 on an original Donkey Kong arcade machine in July, which is easily the most I've ever spent on a used game.
So. How far does your video game collecting go? How much would you pay for a classic from your childhood? I just snagged Harvest Moon 64 for $22 on eBay and I'm pleased as punch!
