Fanboyism must stop!
This is a discussion forum. This is a place where we collaboratively work on ideas and discuss topics. Every discussion needs two arguments, two sides. Nobody knows the future so both side have a fifty-fifty chance of being true. As a community, we must respect each others' opinions. You shouldn't just start accusing people of being wrong. You should say, "This is my opinion and this is why I think this way..." Have points to support your argument. This way you may learn something from other or they from you. People's understanding of the topic will grow and we all will be able to make better judgements.
Unfortunately, these discussions are hindered by fanboys. Fanboys are supposed to be blind to any opinion other than their own. Their only purpose is to make the other side look bad for which they will go to any extent. A few minutes ago, a person who's name I cannot remember created a post titled something along the lines of, "Microsoft has no space in the consumer market". Shortly there after, another person starts commenting wildly to the point that he actually makes threats. The author of the post ends up deleting it under pressure. This is absolutely unacceptable. Those who do not respect their counter-argument/counter-opinion do not have the right to be present in the discussion.
Now I would like to send a message to the authors who create posts in The Verge forums. As I said before, nobody can see the future. Our opinion may turn out to be correct or wrong; its uncertain. We need to show that uncertainty in our language. We shouldn't say, "Microsoft will fail!!!" Instead, a better wording would be, "Microsoft may fail because ... " You have to show that you are presenting your opinion. If you use harsh language, you go into fanboy category.
To the author of the deleted post: I like Windows 8 and even though I may no agree with your opinion, I respect it. I would kindly request that you create the post again. To delete the post would mean that you have admitted defeat against the fanboy. However, I suggest that you change the tone of the language according to the above paragraph.
I request the administrator of this website to monitor and ban any person who is using bad language and doesn't show respect for someone opinion.
Lastly, I request the community to ignore fanboys. If you reply, he/she will say something back. If you don't say anything, he/she will stop automatically after a few attempts to anger you.
Thank your!
