IDC claims Microsoft to build more than 3 million Surface tablets
As Microsoft Tablet release date comes closer speculations and rumors are also reaching a new height . As per a reports on Cnet Microsoft is expected to build a little more than 3 million Surface tablets .
Production plans are for a few million units for calendar 2012, said IDC analyst Bob O’Donnell in a phone interview. "Probably a little over 3 million, both [Intel] x86 and ARM," he said. Surface RT is built around ARM processors and will not support older "legacy" software that runs onWindows 7. Intel-based Surface will run Windows 8 Pro that does run legacy software.
Price of Tablets is expected to be about 200 $ but its not yet officially disclosed by Microsoft. There is also an option of 2 yr subscription for about 500 $ where buyers will get other benefits which are not yet disclosed.
Does this number sound kinda high to you (manufacturing numbers that is)??????
