Windows Phone criticisms

I have lurked around the forums here at the Verge for a few months now and it's almost unbearable reading the criticisms of Microsoft and it's phone operating system WP7/7.5/8

This is my first post so here is some quick info about me: Microsoft & Apple fan......former HTC HD7 owner, current Lumia 710 owner, New Apple IPad (3) owner, Apple TV (3), iPod touch 4th generation, Old Toshiba laptop, contemplating purchasing the surface or a MacBook Pro and thirsting for a Nokia lumia 900 successor or a Samsung WP variant of the GNote II (I have thought about getting the android version but I don't think I could Live without the WP OS)

....Back to topic at hand....

The criticisms of WP and Microsoft may be valid, but I find it crazy how apple and ios are not critiqued with a fine tooth comb to the same extent as WP and MS, when there is just as much room for improvement and significant flaws within the OS. IOS is constantly given a pass for its terrible app switching/gestures, un-intuitive clunky UI, lack of communication between apps, etc. and iOS is the maturest of the three major operating systems.

From my observations, many people give iOS a pass for its inefficincies due to the high sales volume and market share of iPhone, and the millions of apps (although the average user probably uses only 5 or so apps) ....but there's so much lacking when compared to the overall experience of windows phone.

Criticism is healthy but it should be equally given to each platform. After reading posts/topics in the Verge forums, you would think WP was grossly inferior to android and iOS and that's just not the case. It's all subjective at the end of the day, but it's just sickening almost how apple/iOS doesn't receive half the criticism that WP (or android) receives when there's obviously a lot of room for some.

Apologies for the short post but it's tiring typing with the iPads on screen keyboard.
