While phones grow up, I'm left wanting

I may be completely alone, but when can we have a 4" 720p 'hero' phone? My smart phone past includes an original Droid, a Droid Incredible, a Galaxy Nexus and a GSIII. All are great, but why must they always be bigger? We have the Nexus 7 now which is a great media device at 7". I'm up for putting an anchor on the phone size expansion.

I understand LTE and more powerful processors require more/bigger batteries. Is there no way to keep a phone in the 4" (or HTC One S) size realm with these advancements? The thinness of the GSIII is amazing, but unnerving the first few days I had it. If I have to concede a mm or so in thickness to bring down the screen, please give me that. HTC your One S looked great. Make an LTE, 720p 4" display with global capable radios and removable batteries and you will have my money*.

I'm tired of bigger and better phones. I just want better. But then the Stones said "you can't always get what you want"

*This statement contingent on Sense being removed and an unlockable bootloader
