Samsung denies repairs for Galaxy Nexus outside the US
My Galaxy Nexus took a tumble - and landed with a shattered screen. I bought the phone in the US, and am using it in India.
Samsung India and Samsung USA have categorically told me "the phone will be repaired where it was bought" - i.e. the customer must arrange to send the phone back to the USA for repairs - irrespective of where they are globally.
From the official Galaxy Nexus page on Google:
"Use Galaxy Nexus on the carrier network of your choice, including T-Mobile and AT&T in the U.S. The HSPA+ device is compatible over 200 GSM compatible carriers worldwide."
With Samsung's global resources, supply chains and outlets, this seems shoddy. Samsung India apparently does not have *any* replacement parts... so much for being a "world phone"!
Grey market quotes on the screen are around $270.. for that much, I'd rather buy a new phone.
I waited looong for the GNex, and Samsung screwed me over for a repair!
