refreshing take on the samsung ruling

I was in tn the middle of writing an editorial on this but Jesus at Gizmodo beat me to the punch. A bit refreshing take and one that I Agree with. As an android user and Mac user I have what I feel is an unbiased perspective on it and I find this ruling to actually kick start innovation a bit. At least I hope so. I have grown tired of people bitching about apple and the best thing to do is for companies to take a fresh approach to smart phones. I like the S3 because its obviously slightly different than the iphone, I love the HTC one x because its probably the most well made hardware Android phone I've ever owned.
This will end the iPhone era and force competitors to design devices that feel different. Additionally, it forces apple to improve upon design as well. I feel that anyone that sees this as stifling innovation is not fully looking at the whole picture. I understand no one likes to be on the losing team (Samsung enthusiasts) but I think this will be good for innovation. Honestly after owning the iPhone and multiple android devices over the last 12 years this reminds me of the feeling that came over me when the original iPhone came out in 2007, it was New and made my windows phones, palm treos, sidekicks, and BlackBerry feel like an old generation. Now I hope to welcome the innovation that is coming from Android manufacturers and apple In the coming years. As I write this on my Nexus 7, Im starting to feel a little of the excitement that i felt in 2007. I truly feel that the consumer will win in the end.
Thanks reading and I understand that everyone has an opinion and don't want to force one upon you, just wanted to share my sentiment.
