I officially am done with MacBreak Weekly
I'm pretty disgusted atm. After reading Andy Ihnatko's latest column I decided I'm never listening to MacBreak Weekly ever again. I've kinda loathed the show for months now, but I always tolerated it b/c it was the best Apple podcast available. But between Leo & Andy's constant praise for Samsung, them often being flat out wrong when they discuss their stories, and their increasingly negative Apple coverage I've debated whether I should even bother listening for the good because it had been so bad lately. Then I read this. This is the quintensential example of a specious argument. It seems valid on its face, but if Ihnatko just thought for a second more he would have seen this is all garbage. First as another commenter pointed out how Google has been designing around Apple's patents for awhile not. But lets look elsewhere.

Motorola:
All of these companies figured out how not to make a rounded rectangle w/ a chrome bezel and a all black front, and they all look great. And they shipped, and most cost less than the iPhone. Innovation, and its great for consumers b/c they cost less. And they don't violate Apple's IP. And tablets...

Samsung (when pressed came out w/ a non-infringing design):

It's really sad Andy Ihnatko decided to go with a sensational headline to generate page views rather than reflect the highly competitive and innovative reality of the smartphone and tablet market where OEMs are not using Apple as their external design department. Its clear MacBreak Weekly is in the hands of people who don't like Apple. Its one thing to be critical, but its another to ignore facts to make a negative point. We know why Leo is so bitter at Apple, but why is Andy?
