Absurd battery performance - SGS3
I took my phone off the charger this morning at 8:30. I played around with it occasionally, played a game or two and didn't use it a whole bunch until 12:30p, when I checked the battery life and put it in my pocket to go outside. It stated 70%.
I was in my workshop from 12:30 until just before 5pm this afternoon, during which time I never touched the device at all. The screen was off, and when I checked the battery it was at 8%. That's ridiculous.
I don't know if I have some sort of rogue app or setting going on here, but I need to figure out what's going on before my return period ends on Saturday. I love the phone, but that battery life is atrocious. Especially for not even having the screen on.
I had WiFi on the whole time, and it was connected the whole time to my own network (I assume, I have good coverage out there). I was on LTE, where I have a decent signal and it shouldn't have been searching for one. GPS was on, Power Saver mode is on. When the screen was on it was manually set around 15-20%. 3 or 4 apps may have been on in the background, but this should be about normal for anyone. I previously opened and told Latitude not to report or share my location (something I read could be a battery hog). Maps still shows 9% of my usage, and I haven't used maps actively since last week, and I've cleared processes and active apps since then. Cell standby reports an obscene 37% of my battery, but zero time without signal. I've disabled all the carrier (AT&T) bloatware, along with Media Hub
I guess I'm looking for tools and ideas to figure out what's going on. My battery seems to take a dive every afternoon whether it's being used or not. The only other app that I can think of might be hogging is Swype or Holo. I suppose I can reset the phone, but I'd take any suggestions first.
