According to sources familiar with the company, Samsung is planning to launch a pair of new Windows 8 tablets: the Ativ Smart PC and Ativ Smart PC Pro. The 11.6-inch tablets each come with a keyboard dock and support for Samsung's S Pen input technology for writing and drawing on their displays. The S Pen has 1,024 levels of sensitivity and works with the pre-loaded S Note app. The new tablets are also said have support for 10-finger multitouch on their Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixel displays. The Smart PC is expected to have an Intel Atom processor, while the Smart PC Pro should use an Intel Core i5 chip.

We expect that Samsung will officially announce these new tablets at its press event later today, so stay tuned for more information.
