YouTube streaming Lollapalooza music festival for free this weekend
YouTube has become the go-to place to enjoy concerts without leaving your house, and that trend continues this weekend as the site will be streaming the Lollapalooza music festival. This year's iteration includes performances from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys, Jack White, The Shins, and more, all playing live from Grant Park in Chicago. The show actually kicked off at 11:30AM PT today and will continue to run through to Sunday (you can watch it all right here).
This isn't the first time YouTube and Lollapalooza have teamed up, and last year YouTube says viewers spent an average of 44 minutes watching the concert series online. Of course, YouTube has streamed other music festivals as well, including both the New Orleans Jazz Festival and Coachella, which featured a performance from a hologram of deceased rapper Tupac Shakur.
