Tablets Usefullness

I have been using a 10.1" android device for about 6 months now. It has been really hard for me to adjust from using a 15.4" laptop, to using a 10.1' touch device. Things I used to use my laptop for (photoshop, dreamweaver, flash, word processing, programming) either feels way worse on a tablet, or just can't be done at all. My roommate recently acquired a nexus 7 tablet. I love the way that thing feels in my hands. Everything I love to do on a tablet really feels great on a nexus 7. It still has its limitations, but it feels great doing "tablet" activities on it. This has got me wondering...do I really want a 10" tablet? I don't really think the form factor works anymore. I use to think "tablets need to be bigger, that will fix my problem." but recently, I have began to think that the problem is I want more than what such a small device can deliver. Thats why I think that the perfect combo would be to have a 7" tablet, and a 13.3" touchscreen laptop (in my want/need cases a Taichi). What are your experiences? Do you agree or completely disagree?

Update: I have come to some sort of conclusion...kinda.

The devices I would have to get to fill my needs would be:

  • 4.3" WP8 device (hopefully Nokia Lumia device with PureView)
  • Kindle for Textbooks and Books
  • 7" Tablet for media consumption on the go
  • 13-15" Laptop with touchscreen and wacom compatibility
