It's time for a Surface update...
With all the flashy tablets appearing recently, I believe the time has come for an update about Microsoft's Surface tablets. Rapidly designed Surface knock-offs are becoming common place, with Samsung's new Windows 8 tablet line even catching my attention. It looks slick, I don't think many people will disagree...
With most major tablet player's cards revealed, now is the perfect time for an update on Microsoft's Surface tablets. Here's why:
1. The Surface tablet has been the least transparent Windows 8 tablet on the market. The competition has all played their cards, and it's time that Microsoft follow suit in order to convince the consumer exactly why we should consider Microsoft first.
2. Microsoft's Windows 8 Phone announcement with Nokia will provide a lot of hype about cross-compatibility.
3. By releasing before (W8 phone) and after (MS Surface) Apple's announcement for the IPhone5, Microsoft can downplay Apple's media attention. In addition, I almost expect that the Surface Pro specs will be announced at Intel's IDF between September 11th and 13th. My reason? I expect the Surface Pro to port Intel's new HASWELL processor.
I expect that the company will release the following figures about 5 days after Apple's announcement:
Surface RT
1. Price
2. Bundles (keyboard separate, MS Live subscription with 199$ Purchase, exe...)
2. Processor
3. Battery Life
4. Memory
Surface Pro
1. Price
2. Processor
3. Battery Life
4. Memory
5. Docking Station
So, do you agree? Are we going to see a MS Surface update in 2 weeks?
