Verge page render error strangely hypnotic

I am not sure what causes it, but every once in awhile this happens when I am cycling through chrome tabs on my laptop

I should be annoyed but I find it strangely hypnotic and I start staring at it far longer than anyone should. I kind of wish the issue would pop up more.
