Utopia in a PC+ era with SurfaceRT?

With NVidia signing up to the Wifi Alliance Miracast standard recently for the Tegra series, I'm just thinking of the possible enhancements to using the SurfaceRT with desktop assets without the need to dock anything, except for power if you are low on juice.

This should achieved with the use of Bluetooth for input such as a KB + Mouse and using Miracast for the Video and Audio, the question remains to be seen if/when Windows 8 will support this feature once it is released. Below is a demo on Android which looks impressive.

NVidia Announcement

The Tegra optimized Miracast solution is comprised of two major components – the multimedia (video/audio) processing block and the industry compliant wireless display networking stack, see Figure 3. The multimedia processing block takes advantage of Tegra’s multi-core graphics engine and dedicated hardware video/audio codecs to accelerate the decoding of video content, render graphics surfaces and perform the final compositing operations before encoding into a H.264 bit stream to be wirelessly transmitted.

This is yest another demonstration of how Surface can differentiate itself from the competition by showing off the devices versatility based on the users needs at any given point and possessing the elements of a full OS

Users will always be able to plug in a cable to the device - however this solution will provide Surface users with a cost effective AIO desktop with the end users choice of monitor (even with an adaptor), Keyboard and mouse with minimum hassle.
