Old Hard drives being bought-up by info thieves.
Anyone disposing of a computer or copier should have the hard drive physically destroyed. "Recyclers" are buying up hard drives, downloading the info, and selling it. Copiers have an internal hard drive used to store every document copied.
Computer hard drives are really hot since they allow access to financial & personal info. Software used to wipe drives simply hides the information. Once the drive is duplicated the information can be accessed using forensic software.
On-Site Physical Destruction of the information bearing plates is the only 100% sure method of destroying the information.
