Windows Phone Sales Surge

Not sure why the verge hasn't followed up on this, but Paul Thurrott reported late last week that WP7 sales surged in Q2, even following the announcement that those phones would not be able to upgrade to WP8. Source: Key facts from his post: "Canalys reported that total Windows Phone handset sales in the quarter were 5.1 million units, up from 1.3 million in the same quarter a year ago. That was good for 3.2 percent of the market, up from 1.2 percent a year ago." While that is still extremely tiny compared to iphone and android markets, year over year growth is a really good sign, especially following news that you can't upgrade your wp7
