As promised, Microsoft opened its registration for BUILD 2012 this morning at 8AM PT. The company's developer event will be held on campus at Microsoft's Redmond-based headquarters on October 30th this year. Early bird registration (the first 500) is set at $1,595, with the full price at $2,095 and a limited number of academic spaces for $995. Microsoft says it will focus on Windows 8 at BUILD 2012 along with Windows Azure, Windows Phone 8, Windows Server 2012, and Visual Studio 2012.
Alongside the registration process, Microsoft also revealed its Windows Phone 8 branding. As expected, and hinted at during its Windows Phone Summit in June, Microsoft is using the same Metro style logo that it created for Windows 8. We're expecting Microsoft to detail the final software development tools for Windows Phone 8 at BUILD 2012. An SDK leaked recently that revealed a number of unannounced features in the company's new mobile operating system. We'll be attending BUILD 2012 so stay tuned for our coverage from October 30th to November 2nd.
Update: that was quick, early bird registration has sold out.
