Apple vs Samsung
I was discussing this with a friend and thought I should get a second opinion. My take on this whole trial issue is not whether or not Samsung copied Apple. They did, at least to some extent. Everyone copies from everyone. The issue is how much did they copy and how much is too much.
For example, if Samsung were to have released the Galaxy S as an exact replica of the 3G, both in terms of the hardware and home screen, I think we can all agree that Apple would have grounds for some legal enforcement to protect their brand. But what if Samsung changed just 1%? 5%? 50%? At what point is it no longer a kirf and become something inspired or merely influenced?
I think that is the basis of this trial. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks.
