Android's apps quality.

Hello,

First of all, I'd just like to be clear for the overly sensitive: This is not a whining-fest and this is not me bashing Android.

Now that we got that over with, I bought a Samsung Galaxy Nexus last week. And I'm very impressed by Jelly Bean. It's very polished and just a beautiful OS overall. But to my dismay, Android apps have been lacklustre on the quality department in comparison to iOS apps. Yes, I did my research, and I absolutely do not regret my purchase, I love my phone. But I've been struggling to find Apps with good quality. I almost feel like I'm missing something and not finding the good apps. To be more specific, for example I used Clear on iOS (Before that Reminder) and I'm struggling to find a good to do list app in Android, so far the ones I tried seem clunky and very complicated, and quite frankly, ugly.

So, I have two questions. One, can you help me find good quality apps? And just out of curiosity (genuine question) why are iOS apps seem to be more polished and of higher quality than Android apps? Is it a design flaw in Android, their developers kit? or is Apple simply pushing more developers into their operating system?

Any insight would be much appreciated.
