Back to School Laptop Purchase

So I am planning on buying a laptop for going back to school and taking advantage of the windows 8 upgrade promotion that is going on.

This is the laptop that I am planning on buying: ASUS G55VW

I want a powerhouse gaming laptop so I can be highly productive when im not in class (Seems legit).

Does anyone have any experience with this laptop?

• Whats the build quality like?
• Gaming performance?
  
• Does it overheat? (actually its cooling system looks quite robust, probably wont be an issue)
  
• How well do you think it will be able to handle games coming in the next year or two?
• is the trackpad decent? (size, any friction when moving your finger over it? or is it smooth like a Mac track pad)

Do you think that Asus is going to be providing us with touch gesture drivers for the track pad when windows 8 comes out?

If you don't recommend this laptop, which one would you suggest? Or should I wait till October to buy a Windows 8 based laptop?

The games I am going to be playing are Skyrim, Guild Wars 2, Borderlands 2 and possibly Planetside 2. I would like to run these on high-ultra settings (willing to disable AA if i must).

Edit:

Id be willing to build my own laptop if i could find a decent Canadian supplier of Barebones laptops and parts, but it seems like more of a pain than its worth.
