Rare photos document the rise of Steve Jobs and Silicon Valley
Wired has published a series of never-before-seen photos documenting the rise of Silicon Valley, including several images of late Apple CEO Steve Jobs. The photos were originally captured by photojournalist Doug Menuez as part of a 15-year project that began in the mid-1980s. Among the most noteworthy are shots of Jobs delivering a "rousing pep talk" prior to launching NeXT Computer, as well as a beautiful image of him at lunch with Ross Perot and the NeXT board of directors. The photos were originally supposed to run in an edition of Life magazine, but Jobs eventually vetoed that plan, reassuring Menuez that he'd "have fun with these pictures some day."
