Stop whining, it's not that big of a deal.
This started as a comment in another thread but I thought it deserved it's own post. I don’t understand why people are making such a huge deal of the inclusion of the desktop in windows RT. Have we become such elitists that we think the rest of the world is too stupid to understand the difference between the Metro and Desktop UI. And since were in the business of assuming how the so called average "uninformed user" will interact Windows 8. I believe they would welcome the simplicity Metro and moreover should they wonder into the desktop they’d be happy to know a mere press of the windows key takes them back to metro and away from the intimidating desktop. What we're forgetting is that the kind of people who are "utterly confounded" by Windows RT are really the type to go out installing photoshop. They tend to use the web and the standard apps that Microsoft preloads with Windows (office, notepad, calculator, etc.) Guess what, that's all still there. (this post isn't meant to insult those who feel differently, I just thing we're making a mountain out of a mole hill here) Just food for thought, does anyone take point away from the iPad for having apps I'm the app store, like cetrix that allow access to a virtualized windows desktop?
