Given up gaming. But one game will bring me back.
Like many Verge readers, I was a gamer for a long time. Mostly PC games, launching from the DOS prompt in my childhood, but I was always up for playing console games with friends, especially since my parents weren't very keen on video games and TV. Over the years, I've invested far more hours into games than I care to think about. I'm certainly not against them, just have too many other things to focus on now that I enjoy more, or find more worth my time. I think the last game I sat down to play was TF2, right after the MvM launch. Valve certainly knows how to make a great product, Hadn't played for months before that, and only played for a few days, namely because my other projects just needed attention. That said, there is one game - and only one game - that without hesitation will bring me back to gaming one last time.
Half Life 3.
I don't know when that is, where I'll be in life, or if my computer will even run the damn thing, but I will buy it with exceedingly high expectations (which is where they should be after the first and second installations), and play it without regret.
So I was wondering, is there anyone else out there who has given up video games for one reason or another, but has "the one" they're still waiting on?
