New episodes from Fox Television no longer available on iTunes

Earlier this week Apple quietly removed Fox and FX from the front page of iTunes TV Show's section. There was no official announcment from Apple or Fox. As of today no new episodes from Fox and FX will posted on iTunes. This includes Sons Of Anarchy, American Horror Story, and Justified from FX. And Glee, New Girl, Bones, The Simpsons and many more from Fox. Older episodes are still available.

What little information I have been able to find is all second hand. Kurt Sutter the producer of Sons Of Anarchy had an angry blog post blaming Apple. But it has since been deleted. At the moment it appears to be a disagreement over identifiers being shown at the beginning of episodes. I've tried to email Fox and Apple but of course I haven't received a response. I hope that maybe The Verge can get a comment from Apple or Fox on this.

Here is a link to the only info I've been able to find

This is in regards to the Season 5 premiere of Sons Of Anarchy.

The premiere episode, Sovereign, is now on Amazon Instant Video as of this afternoon. As far as iTunes goes, there’s apparently a dispute between FX and Apple. Kurt Sutter tweeted out a blog post earlier today about the situation. However, his blog post (“Hey there’s an Apple up my ass and it hurts”) detailing the Apple – Fox /FX dispute was removed as was the tweet. The post from Sutter and another source told us that Apple has required that all TV shows have all network branding or identification removed for iTunes. Specifically, the bug in the lower right hand corner and the brief intro at the beginning and end of the episode. FX has apparently not agreed and no SOA is the result.
