Microsoft held its annual company meeting this week for full-time employees, and it didn't disappoint if you're one of the 90,000 workers at the software giant. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer took to the stage to announce that all full-time employees, currently over 90,000 of them, will receive a free Surface RT tablet, Windows Phone 8 device, and a refreshed Windows 8 work machine.
GeekWire first reported the news, and we're told that the Windows 8 machines, which include desktops, tablets, and laptops, have started being distributed — with Surface and Windows Phone 8 devices to follow in the coming weeks. This isn't the first time Microsoft has gifted Windows Phones to its employees. Initial Windows Phone 7 devices were handed out to all Microsoft employees back in late 2010.
