Touch Keyboard Concept

Microsoft already has a special thumb based keyboard in Windows 8, but I felt like it wasted a lot of space in the middle of the screen, so I thought what if you put an app/document in portrait mode in there? I hate when sending messages or writing emails on a tablet/phone that I have to cover have the vertical real estate of the screen with the touch keyboard. This would allow you to hold a tablet with two hands and type with your thumbs on a keyboard that would be at least the size of a phone in landscape.

Your document is rendered in portrait mode and the keyboard is split in half to either side. You could still allow for scrolling of the app/doc in the middle. I should have grabbed a Metro app, but whatever. Thoughts?
