It's Saturday September 15th and this is Polynauts Central, at Polygon on The Verge.

So last night you guys had a little pow-wow without me. I blame sunspots, volcano dust and George Bush for my inability to join the fun. I'm rushing this intro, because I've been playing Tekken Tag 2 all night. Without further ado!

1: These are the games hitting the day the Wii U arrives by Alexa Ray Corriea

Earlier this week, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime said that 50 titles will be released during the console's launch window, which Nintendo defined as between the Nov. 18 launch day and April 1, 2013. Speaking with developers and publishers today, we were able to confirm that 14 games are planned for a Nov. 18 release, while another nine are expected to arrive in time for the holidays and five more coming "before the end of the year."

2: Wii data will be transferable to Wii U by Megan Farokhmanesh

Wii U owners will be able to wirelessly transfer Wii content, including Miis and games for WiiWare and Virtual Console, said Nintendo PR rep Andrew Kelly. According to Kelly, the process is similar to transferring content from the Nintendo DS to the Nintendo 3DS, or from the 3DS to the 3DS XL.

3: 'Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition' delayed to November 30th by Alexa Ray Corriea

"After recently reviewing the game and then consulting with our partners, we've decided to ensure that Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition is the best possible product on launch," Overhaul president Trent Oster wrote. "Thus, we have pushed back the release date of the game."

4: At war with fans: 'EVE Online's' fall and rise from infamy by Emily Gera

Three things followed the year-long tug-o-war between the developers of EVE Online and the infuriated fan base the studio says turned the Icelandic MMO into a "meta-gaming pit of evil weasels": Denial, near self-destruction, and then finally a moment of clarity.

5: Play this: 'Black Mesa' by Nathan Ingraham

If, like me, you spent your formative years gunning down Vortigaunts, running from hordes of headcrab zombies, and cowering in terror from sound-sensitive tentacles the size of an apartment building while making your way through Valve's genre-defining Half-Life, you'll be delighted to know that the long-awaited Black Mesa is finally available to download.

1: Polynauts LIVE on Saturday: Talk about gaming with Paddy, Shaun and Paul. by ShaunMcIlroy

This Saturday, as stated a few days ago, we're attempting our first podcast which has the temporary title of Polynauts LIVE. We have a couple of ideas on that but we'll see how this trial goes first. It might be awesome, it could very well be a disaster but who knows! Let's find out!

2: Attention to detail that remained unseen .. until now (Dark Souls) by CoffeeJezus

During the Prepare to Die PC release, one clever soul (hoho!) created a mod to see what, if anything, was underneath the NPC hoods and helmets in the game. What was found underneath was - fully formed faces - which would never have been seen beyond this mod being created.

3: The "I Need Help!" Topic! by KatanaShades

IHello everyone! I want this topic to be one in which anyone can get help for the games they're playing. I hate getting stuck on games, especially when it's something a walkthrough or FAQ can't fix.

4: Wii U Launch Window Titles: Which Interest You? by GiantBoyDetective

I'm SUPER excited for Rayman Legends (because Origins was so fantastic) and also for NSMBU which seems to have a Super Mario World vibe. Pikmin 3 is a must have, Nintendo Land will be good for parties, and The Wonderful 101 looks like it could be a unique little gem. So, which titles are YOU most interested in?

5: Next Gen Consoles are launching in a new world by Gudgel

I think we should all take a second and acknowledge that the Wii U is going to be the first console to launch in the post-iPhone world. It sounds crazy, but the Wii launched a full year before iPhone existed (at least in their current, app-filled form).
