Restaurant tech and Windows 8 (need help)

Well my dad is going to go into the restaurant business soon and I am elected to be IT manager. Scary thing right? Well I don't know that much on restaurant technology, but I do know alot about Windows 8 and touchscreens. So I was thinking about not using the boring resistive Dell restaurant fare and go for Windows 8. My dad wants me to do these things.

• be able to take an order and then have it pop up in the kitchen
• at the end of the day all the orders are available to view
• essentially have two computers communicating and recording orders.

IS this possible? IS their any software I can get that will work with hardware like the Sony tap 20 or Asus transformer book 12 inch with intel core i5?
