The slow and underwhelming decline of greatness

I remember years back when the iPhone 4 was released. Gizmodo was still a reputable tech site, all of our favorite tech journalists were at Engadget and they both had their reviews of this glorious phone. When I saw the first images... all glass and metal, I realized that this was the most beautiful gadget I had ever seen. A mere piece of technology had an emotional response to me for the first time in my life... the 4 was like a Gibson Custom, it was special. Now, when I look at this next iteration I feel nothing. So much so that the Galaxy Nexus on my desk will probably be there for the next year or two. C'est la vie...
