Will Windows 8 / RT get bad verge review because of the desktop mode (tablets)?
It seems that a lot of people miss the point about the desktop mode for tablets and it concerns me.
It's simple: you can ignore it, yet a lot of people still complain.
Desktop mode is for the power user, it is designed for the mouse/trackpad, file management and this is exactly what Surface and other convertible tablets provide.

My point is: when you buy a car that goes 150 mph / 220 kmh, do reviewers complain that you can't drive it at the 150 mph in the neighborhood because handling isn't good and you will crash? No, because THIS IS NOT what the car was designed to do in that specific area.
The manufacturer gave you that option because it can be useful in certain situations but it does not mean that you should drive at that speed everywhere, in fact, it's the opposite.
It's just logic, I don't understand why TheVerge had a Windows 8 Pro device yet almost never left Metro, then previewed Windows RT yet almost never left the desktop...
