Amazon is reportedly prepping an E-ink/LCD 2-in-1 Tablet
With a special event coming up for Amazon, there is a certain level of anticipation for something great even though Amazon's event is somewhat overshadowed by other great tech showing at the moment. An interesting piece of news has just surfaced: Sources have obtained a picture believed to have come from a patent application by Amazon, showing that the famous online retailer is prepping a new design of a tablet in which both the front and the back are display areas. But here is the interesting bit: one of them is a color LCD as on any media tablet, while the other is an e-ink screen normally used for dedicated e-reader.

While it remains uncertain as to whether this design will be on one of the models on display at the up coming special event, it is certainly exciting news.
Personally, I love reading but I also want to enjoy multimedia contents, which need a full color LCD display. Because of that I was quite torn last year as to whether I should buy a tablet or a dedicated e-reader (obviously a tablet can cover reading too, but the e-ink screen is easier on the eyes).
Even if this model is not ready to be shown at the special event, I hope it will continue to be develop and reach the market at some point in time.
