Which option is the best value for the money for macbook or macbook air?

So clearly getting the 8gb macbook air makes sense , because the ram is not changeable. Is 128gb enough? Is it worth the extra cost for 256gb? What about i7 vs i5 is the difference or performance worth the cost difference?

Is it worth it to get a macbook air over a macbook?
