Microsoft sent out invitations on Monday for a Windows 8 launch event to take place Oct. 25 in New York City. The invite simply states, “You’re invited to celebrate. Windows 8.”
The Redmond company didn’t include many details — there’s no venue location, time or discussion plans. But Microsoft had previously announced that Windows 8 will officially ship on Oct. 26, so this event is more than likely a coming-out party for the new operating system.
Since Microsoft has also confirmed that Surface will be available the same day as Windows 8, you can expect the company to spend time detailing its tablet at the event. One unknown spec that Microsoft will likely confirm is Surface pricing.
