NBC has released the pilot episode of Revolution, the new drama from J.J. Abrams, on NBC.com and Hulu. Two weeks until the series' broadcast debut, NBC is making an apparent attempt at captivating savvy internet users before the show airs.

Fox did something similar with hit show The New Girl last year, and is doing the same with The Mindy Project this year. Now NBC is following the lead and is releasing all of its new fall shows online at NBC.com and participating affiliates like Hulu, iTunes, Amazon, and the Xbox 360. This decision hopefully suggests that these companies are aware of the importance of having shows available online in addition to, or possibly in lieu of, traditional cable channels.
