Loving the Nokia News... However There's Still a Problem...

So, here's a small point I'm sure has been beaten to death over the years; release dates.

I'm assuming Microsoft is show it's cards early, as is the commonality accross companies, to incite interest and hold-outs. This may have worked when there was control or on a more level field, but the issue is most people know what to expect with an Apple and most times even Google event and product release.

The devices and software shown will be available in days if not same day. So sure, I'm in belief many will see this news who own either an Android or iDevice and say they may wait. However, it's still a month off... October 26th, right? (or is it 28th,,,)

Apple will have it's show in a couple of weeks, the store will shut down, news will spread like verbal/textual diarrhea until the event, the store will be back open and things would have sold out and blah blah blah. Apple's mastered the impulse buy, MS is still whetting your whistle but giving you just enough time to contemplate the purchase, or worse, it's opponents time to release something tangible in its stead.

In any event, seeing how good these devices are (whether you're on-board with the not-Metro or what have you, one must admit this is a good play) how do you think the continuing lack of head-start will play out given this event and Apple's to come?

NOTE: Keep in consideration I am also speaking of the Surfae tablet, MS's lack of a 7inch where Apple's about to tread evidently and so on.
