Korean FTC investigating Apple claims Samsung is abusing its wireless patents
The Korean Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) is launching an investigation into Samsung's alleged abuse of its wireless technology patents. Reuters reports that the KFTC is responding to a complaint that Apple filed earlier this year accusing Samsung of abusing its dominant position in wireless technology patents.
Samsung agreed to license its 3G patents to the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) on fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory terms. Samsung is currently being investigated by the EU for the same issue, and its claims that Apple was infringing on its wireless patents were shot down last month by a US jury. None of the parties involved have offered public comment as of writing, but we'll update you if they do.
