Can the (rumored) 7.85" iPad be Apple's new flagship tablet?
Many people declare the rumored "smaller" iPad to already be a niche product but has anyone given thought to the idea that maybe the lighter, cheaper and more pocketable 7.85" iPad is to be the flagship product that Apple puts its focus on while the bigger and more powerful 9.7" becomes the niche product?
Im not saying this is happening for sure, but I'm drawing my parallels from the history of the iPod where the first generation was an amazing and pioneering product for its time but it ran FireWire it was bigger and clunkier due to it being HDD based. But after several years of market research, incredible sales and technological advancements then eventually Apple shifted all its focus on the cheaper, smaller Solid State iPod Nano line and relegated the "iPod" to be their niche version. So is it possible history is repeating itself and Apple will encourage the 7.85" iPad to be their primary seller and the 9.7" would eventually become their iPad Classic?
Just a thought.
