App Store Changes
Browsing the App Store on my iPad today (iPad 2, UK, iOS5) and noticed a few changes. Being myself I had to investigate...
Whats changed?
What's Hot Missing
You may be familiar with the "What's Hot" page, on the featured tab of the App Store. Today it has been removed leaving only "New" and "Release Date".
iPhone + iPad
App of The Week Icon Changes
Apple has also changes the row of large icons that feature the "App of The Week" and highlighted groups of apps. Previously there were 6 icons in landscape and 4 in portrait. This has now changed to be 4 in landscape, 3 in portrait. The images have been scaled (and pixelated), however I assume that eventually the images will be replaced by ones of the correct size. This change is most likely to be to match the format of the iPhone (4 icons at the top of the "New" page)
iPad
Why?
Presumably these changes are in anticipation of the new iOS6 App Store redesign (new look is similar to the current Genius design), these changes would probably be caused by the changes to be online backend of the app.
