Why Sony will make a Windows Phone 8 Device
As I'm sure, most of you are, by now aware that Sony is in fact considering jumping on the WP8 ship. Regardless of what your opinion is on Sony mobile, it's always good to have more OEMs. Because each OEM has specific markets in which they are leaders, not to mention it drives even more competition.
It is easy to see why Sony would or even should make WP8 phones. They are already a Windows OEM and I believe their Vaio laptops are responsible for the larger proportion of their revenues in that space. It's also well known that their Xperia smartphone sales are not as good as one would imagine, so it would give them an alternative opportunity with a completely different approach.
For me, there is only one thing standing in their way, and that is:
Sony is in talks with Microsoft, and I suspect it's for them to be allowed to have some sort of Playstation store or hub pre-installed on their phones etc... I personally am not a big fan of Sony. I bought a Sony Xperia S, only to sell it a mere 3 days later as it was just awe full in many many ways, but it's good to have more options.
