A new way to name phones
I had a tough time remembering names of phones when I was in college. Most of the popular devices then were from Nokia and all of them had a four digit number as its name. It sucked! So when more and more companies started using proper names for phone I thought it was a good idea, but I stand corrected.
There are so many phones in the market now and some of them have the most bizarre names. I was just going through all the devices Samsung has been spamming the market with (shut up fanboys, I use a Samsung myself) and I realised that these companies need to change the way they name their phones.
Instead of having random second names to denote the size of the device they can take a leaf out of clothing industry and call their phones S, M, L, XL and XXL ,where XXL would be Note and S would be Galaxy Mini.
I'm not calling out Samsung alone, all the OEMs manage to confuse users so much with their naming convention. Nokia still seems to be all over their place with mobile phone names. Most n00bs won't be able to distinguish between Windows 8 and 7.5 devices just by knowing the name, a farcry from from iPhone.
What do you guys think, does this system makes sense, or do you have a better concept that these OEMs could use?
