Can we make March dystopian-month?
I don't think this book club has ever decided on a dystopian novel so let's make next month Dystopia-March. I suggest dystopian because: a) It's my favorite category; b) tons of discussion can come along; c) it'll expand everyone's minds to the things happening around us.
I don't feel like I need to say this, but I will anyway: Do not pick books that are similar to Hunger Games or Divergent. Those books are much more plot orientated and are just considered dystopian novels due to their setting. They are not dystopian novels at heart. I'm certainly not saying that these books are bad (Hell, I didn't hate Hunger Games when I first read it - it's pretty good) they're... different. And really one dimensional, you can't analyze much out of it.
I suggest books like 1984, Fahrenheit 451, Brave New World, Cat's Cradle...etc They're really good and much discussion can come out of those. Suggest some other dystopian books below!
