Video Blogging Tools... suggestions?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to do video reviews for apps and such and I was wondering if anyone know of any software and hardware tools for much improved quality?

I use a Macbook Air for all my work, and so far, my only tools available to me are:

• Canon 7D
• 2 x Alienbees Lamps (yes, I know they're for photography, but I'm hoping the modeling lights will suffice)
• Adobe Premiere + After Effects
• Reflector app (OS X)

I'd like better audio, so perhaps I should invest in an affordable, but really good external microphone. I'm pretty clueless about those however. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
