MS should open the Win32 API on Win RT to hobbyists to seed the platform
Microsoft should open the Windows RT, Win32 API to hobbyists, in order to spur platform growth. I personally would buy a Windows RT tablet if I knew I could compile applications within a desktop experience on a ARM processor. This would be a polar opposite approach from Windows 8 x86/64 as the operating system is already open, and yet metro applications are handled directly through the windows 8 store. This balancing act would also keep Intel in line with their product pricing.
Would anyone here be against having Microsoft open up the Win32 part of Windows RT for hobbyists without the need for a jailbreak?
