New Google Image Search Layout?

So it seems that there is a new layout/design for Google Image Search with an expand function that has rolled out to the UK Google.

Old Google Images (screenshot from http://images.google.com/):

Which then goes to the following when you click on an image:

But below is the new design from http://images.google.co.uk/:

You will see that the images are larger in that default view but that seems like the only change...

But if you click on an image like we did above, you get the following:

(And yes, it is animated in that expanded area).
