One good device or many great devices?
I'm very interested in Surface because it CAN be a all-in-one device. But for it to be everything you are sacrificing here and there and pay a premium.
and to clarify, I'm not a frequent traveller, I have company laptop for work related productivity, so personal productivity needs are rare - maybe 5% of total usage
Surface Pro 64gb, type cover, bluetooth mouse, usb hard drive - $1100 at least
Alternative:
- cheap and light notebook - $400 on sale for the occasional personal productivity need
- iPad mini - $300 - super portable, at least equally capable for 95% of day to day browsing, email, videos
- missing digitizer, but a nice capacitive pen and a good app can come close for note taking
