If you do want to see a ring made of human skin, though, you've come to precisely the right place.

You're looking at a slice from the stomach of Sruli Recht, who had it cut out, tanned, and then mounted on a gold ring. It's called Forget Me Knot, and besides quite possibly out-Hirsting Hirst, it forms part of a collection that he's presenting in Paris. Any buyer of the nearly $500,000 ring will apparently also receive a certificate matching the DNA in it to that of Recht. You can't be too careful with your human leather.
What's that? You wanted to see very graphic documentation of the skin being excised? Oh, we can do that too. Or you could check out the original images of the ring over on Dezeen.
