Reminder: how to pick preferred Wi-Fi networks in OS X

I was recently reminded of this bad habit my computer used to have of joining public Wi-Fi networks around my home instead of my personal, private one. Luckily, there's a way to set the priority for which Wi-Fi networks your computer joins first, and it's really easy to do.

Open System Preferences and open the 'Network' option (you can also type "preferred Wi-Fi networks" to get there).

Open the 'Advanced' options...

drag your preferred network to the top...

...and it's really that easy, you're done. You can tinker a little more to create a network hierarchy if you so choose, too. Hope this helps make your daily life just a little bit simpler — I know it did for mine.

PS: In case you're wondering — I couldn't find any way to do this in iOS, unfortunately. Any ideas would be welcome.
