Apple is not the most valuable and NEITHER is Exxon.

It's a bit of a pet peeve of mine.

I always see writers post things like "Apple now the most valuable company in the world" or "Apple relinquishes title of most valuable company to Exxon".

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the most valuable company in the world Saudi Aramco? Their estimated value is upwards of 10 trillion dollars.

Edit: The point I'm trying to make is not to brag about any one company. The point is I feel writers should properly address these companies when referring to value. Publicly traded companies are not the only type of companies in the world. When referring to a company that is publicly traded they should say "X company is now the most valuable PUBLICLY TRADED company".
