Gorilla Glass has found its way onto spec sheets of many devices over the years thanks to its promises of keeping your screens scratch- and crack-free, and now the third generation is upon us. Corning has announced that it will be showing off Gorilla Glass 3 at CES next week, and it's offered a hint of what we should expect. According to Engadget, the glass is now three times more scratch resistant than the previous generation, and 40 percent fewer scratches will be visible to the human eye. Those improvements are supposedly the result of what the company is calling "Native Damage Resistance," which is implemented in the new material. Details are still slim — Corning is merely teasing its full announcement at CES — so we'll have more for you from Las Vegas.
